An "informed but informal" place to find real estate information
$250,000 - $300,000 in Jersey City Hts - what can you get?

I am going to be helping someone with a search for a 2 bedroom in Jersey City Heights with a budget of $250,000 - $300,000. Is this possible and what can you get?
Yes, it is possible & you can get something nice but you can't go by property descriptions on the MLS alone. The details & prices sound great yet you never know what it is really like until you actually see it. I suggest you begin by seeing a few places with your realtor and then further explore some of the different neighborhoods to get a better sense of which area you prefer to live in.
On the Hudson County MLS, I ran a search with the following criteria:
type: 2 bedroom condo
location: Jersey City Heights
price range: $250,000 - $300,000
I got 32 matches that fit the above request. See below for a list of some of the places that we are going to check out this weekend:
Palisade Ave:
2 br/1 ba, approx 700 sq ft, new condo conversion
list price: $259,000
2 br/1 ba, approx 810 sq ft (same as above building)
list price: $279,000
Sherman Ave:
2 br/1 ba, approx 850 sq ft, elevator bldg
list price: $285,000
Bowers:
2 br/1 ba, approx 878 sq ft, recent conversion
list price: $290,000
I am familiar with the first two buildings which I have seen before, I am not familiar with the one on Bowers Street, so I will learn more when I see it on Saturday and we will drive by some of the other addresses of other available properties.
