Yesterday's Hoboken Rotary Club's meeting was hosted by Hoboken University Medical Center. The CEO of the hospital, Harvey Hozberg, spoke to us regarding some of the latest developments at the hospital. It was great to hear first hand more about the new Emergency Department which is planned to open in early 2009. This project will be located at Willow and Fourth Street and will more than double the size of the current facility. During construction, emergency care will continue at the Willow and Third Street location. The hospital is planning a Miracle Gala on May 16th at the Liberty House Restaurant in Jersey City. This event is being held to celebrate the recovery of the hospital and to raise funds for the new Emergency Department. Natalie Morales, national correspondent and fourth-hour co-anchor for the today show, will present the program. For more information on the event, you can call Joseph G. Burt, VP for Development 201.418.2124.
On another note, they are now offering room service dining at the hospital. This started a few days ago. Patients can now order their meals when they are hungry, and their food will be delivered w/i 45 minutes. We were given a sample of the room service menu and there are quite a few options.
